Web Design and PHP

This is an introduction to the PHP (pre hypertext processor) scripting language for the web.
Of course this isn’t just an attempt to divulge and describe what’s this all about, but rather an attempt to cover, in a non too technical format, what it is as a programming tool.

Many front end users are identifying this acronym rather abstractly, as a tool that allows anything to bloom out of a web page and accomplish interactive design, security and upload / download speed.

That is what is it indeed, but I would be unfair to not assigning the same definition to ASP, i.e.: Active Server Pages as a Microsft equivalent system.

The reason why PHP is becoming much more popular in these last few years is that PHP is an open source language scripting and it is not bound to other on pay tools at Microsoft software’s house copyrights, nevertheless there are paths to connect to those softwares, if one needs absolutely to keep his feet in both fields.

As its acronym tells, its code processes, or carries along, via a common link (hypertext), few information from one URL to another.

Some of these information can be appended to the link string and be visible, others can be just the environment variables that are set in the processing page (i.e.: the starting page).

The most common way to send this information is by using a simple html-form; actually the sending page or processing page carries along the form-values that the user has input by clicking on a link or on a submit form button.

The sending page can be of any extension, but the landing page or page that is being processed, must be in its own server recognized extension, so that its code content can be parsed and so re-posting the received values to the file that is going to be processed, which will use those values to return in its output a customized content for that user.

The front end user will see a different result, depending on the values that have been sent to the processed pages, for example if the user named: “Nick” is signing in and inputs his correct password, he will be able to access his pages in that server, that server hosts also Nicky’s pages and those won’t be shown to Nick.

Users Nick and Nicky might both sign in at the same time in the same page from two different computers that are connected to the same server.

The code of this scripting language is very much similar to JavaScript, but has different embedding tags containing the active code which can be written and edited by using a simple Windows-Notepad.

All is needed to start your web project, is just a Domain name and a Web Hosting plan and there you are on your own legs in the Internets.

In the sharing environment of my discussion board: PR Check Point FORUM you would find, at absolutely No Cost, all the necessary details to gain the basic related necessary html, style sheets, database, document formats and a small PHP & MySQL basic tutorial of my own made.
I am actually looking ahead to expand my forum content in the advertising environment, besides searching for valid moderators or a business partner that could help me to manage this resource.
